The United States of America guarantees the rights of its citizens through the laws that it enacts. Laws that affect persons with disabilities are of special interest to Options.

We want to be certain that our legislators know our stance on the items that come before them. We write to our legislators, meet with them and attend functions where they are so that they know how we wish them to vote on issues. 

We find that our elected officials want to hear from those that they are serving so they have a feeling for how their constituency feels about the issues.  As a result, we strongly encourage you to contact your legislators via letter, whether it is sent as an E-mail or through the postal service, for issues that affect persons with disabilities.

Because there are a variety of items that are continually being introduced or that are pending,we will share the links to the sites that will give you more comprehensive information.  We will also share a listing of the contact information for the legislators in Iroquois and Kankakee Counties.  If you wish to be included in E-mail alerts about the issues, please email and share your E-mail address with us.

Equality for persons with disabilities has certainly come a long way and we should be proud of that.  However, there is still much to be done and we must continue the journey to equality together!
